Global Information and Analytical Trading System (GIATS) is an instrument of over-the-counter-selling of product of the woodworking complex and associated industries. GIATS is an instrument to the following:

• market's monitoring in order to obtain full and reliable information about its conditions;
• search for prospective partners;
• bidding standardization;
• shortening of bargaining terms and charges (financial and moral);
• increase in contractors' liability in bidding;
• users' labour effictivization.

For users the system provides a mechanism of electronic trading in a regime of actual time in modules of products of the wood industrial complex (Sawn goods, round wood, pulpwood), 10.01 and ETT/MTT railway tariffs, calculation of railway tariffs, Plywood, Hardboard, Chipboard. The following modules are under development with commissioning late quarter IV, 2000: bills, logging machinery and spare parts; bidding. In future we are intending to produce the following modules:

• Combustibles & lubricants

• Cellulose
• Paper & cardboard
• Electric energy
• Gas
• Forwarding services in ports
• Timber trading in cities
• Staff

In case necessity GIATS is able to provide and decentralize information resources that will enable participants concerned to establish their own regional and industry subsystems within GIATS for their usage in order to manage and adjust own project package.

Organizational and industry subsystem is in a position to operate as a division to the central system with the possibility of information obtaining from the leading system and of information transfer to the leading system.
